Danielle & Steven
Larkspur Restaurant, Vail, Colorado
Danielle and Steven were married at the end of June with the magestic view of the Gore Mountain Range in Vail, Colorado. I had the pleasure of spending time with this fun-spirited couple at their home in Atlanta, planning for their mountain wedding here in Colorado, and I even got to see Danielle at her bachelorette party in Austin, Texas!
Steven proposed to Danielle while standing in the unfinished house that they were building together in Atlanta near the Beltline & trendy Krog Street Market. I offered to paint their "guest book" painting as a piece they could hang in their newly finished home that had plenty of blank wall space. Guests were invited to "carve" their initials or names into the aspen tree trunks, or sign elsewhere on the painting.
This wedding was a full expression of joy. The festivities began with bride and groom's first look, on the bridge in Vail Village, both the bride and groom taking a Vail pedi-cab for photos around town. The late afternoon ceremony was held on the west lawn of Larkspur Restaurant. We opted for large market umbrellas and sunglasses for the guests to make sure everyone was comfortable on this spetacularly sunny day. Danielle walked from across the street in a very dramatic processional, and was greeted by her parents who waited for her in the aisle and then escorted her the remainder of the way to the ceremony chuppah. Following the ceremony guests were treated to cocktails and dinner in one of my all time favorite restaurants, Larkspur Vail. Danielle's mother's wedding veil adorned the escort card table along with her parent's weding cake topper and family wedding photos. Guests signed the aspen trunk painting which beautifully mimicked the aspen bark & gold leaf backdrop behind the band, and the aspen and gold chandilier created by Rose Petals. Following dinner guests were invited into the great room for the cake cutting, toasts and then dancing with the famed Funkiphino. This high-energy band performed all over the room, down on the dance floor, even in the photobooth with guests and family!
Mountain weddings just don't get any better than this. A HUGE thanks to Danielle and Steven and their families as well as the outstanding vendors that offered their very best work.
